Great Yarmouth Town play their football at The Wellesley Recreation Ground in Great Yarmouth, with the first team part of the Eastern Counties League and the Reserves In the Anglian Combination League.

Great Yarmouth Town Football Club

Great Yarmouth Town Football Club was formed in 1897 with most of the players being drawn from two very successful local clubs, Yarmouth Fearnoughts and Yarmouth Royal Artillery, who between them had won the Norfolk Senior Cup for the previous four years.

The Team moved to its Current home at The Wellesley Recreation Ground at the start of the 1901-02 season from previous original base at the Beaconsfield Recreation ground.

To make sure all players and visitors to the club remain safe during these difficult times we have issued the following guideline. If you are visiting the club please take a few minutes to read this first.


The First Team currently play in the Eastern Counties League Thurlow Nunn Division 1 North, with the Reserves in Division 3 of the Anglian Combination League. The club also has an U18 Side in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern U18s League as well as links to Great Yarmouth Town FC Youth Sections.

The Wellesley Recreation ground is located on Wellesley Road, Great Yarmouth, NR30 1EF.

At the Ground there is a Club Bar (Smudgers) and The Tea Hut as well as covered seating.

Groundhoppers are most welcome to attend the club – let us know you are coming and we will look after you!
