In association with Premier Sport and the Bread Kitchen Great Yarmouth Town Football Club have started a community group aimed at all abilities called ‘Football First’.

It is a fun football project designed to build skills both on and off the pitch for 16-26 year olds (male and female) looking to reconnect, get reemployed, looking to get fit or just to socialise.

Each session consists of a first half of team building leading to recognised qualifications and an ‘Employability award’ and a second half of football coaching and match play.

Based at The Wellesley, home of Great Yarmouth Town Football Club, Football First takes place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The club have so far had 32 young people through the programme all of whom have achieved the award and have been kitted out with the FFC kit with the Bloaters badge proudly on the front.

With Bread Kitchen as an Education provider and Great Yarmouth Town Fc as a football provider the community link works perfectly.

The project is funded by Sport England and is providing another sound community link with the Wellesley hub.
