Easter Monday saw Great Yarmouth Town FC travel to Leiston to play their Reserves in the final league game of the season for both teams and the Thurlow Nunn Division One North season. With nothing on the game except to swap final league positions this could have been a typical end of season game with both teams looking forward to the off season, but it was far from it.

The Bloaters made changes from the weekends home defeat to Framlingham Town, with John Riches and Jay Orme joining Tyler Halliday and Brady Philpott making up the back four in front of keeper Elvi Putnins. George Edwards moved forward into midfield joining Cameron Barnes, Jayden Snelling, and Jordan Cantwell. The reliable Ryan Beeson, having been named supporters player of the season at the weekend was up front with George Couzens, Ray Urry and Danny Camish where on the bench.

The game started at a good pace with both teams going for it, but it was Leiston who made the early break through with Kai Fletcher netting after 9 minutes, to be followed seven minutes later with Spencer Keller putting the home team two up with sixteen gone. The Bloaters then decided it was time to turn up and really put the home team under some serious pressure and two minutes later brought reward for Jordan Cantwell (18 min) to score with a neat volley from a right-wing cross after the home defence failed to clear from a freekick. Yarmouth remained on the front foot and in the 24th minute Jayden Snelling collected the ball just inside the Leiston half and held off two attempts to stop his mazey run before unleashing a fierce 25 yarder into the top right corner to draw them level. Fletcher had a chance to put Leiston back in front, but Elivjs Putnins saved well, Ryan Beeson shot wide but both teams were restricted as the half closed as the defences tightened up before the interval.

The opening exchanges of the second half saw two opportunities fall to the home side but both went wide. Then The Blues keeper Podd was forced to punch clear only for the return shot to be cleared off the line. Seventy minutes gone and the hard-working George Couzens got his reward, cutting in from the left and driving a low shot into the corner to put the Bloaters 3-2 ahead and it became a matter of game management for them. With eight minutes of time left Nyan Mesuria equalised for the home team following a couple of half chances.  Late on Podd was forced to make a splendid save from Danny Camish, and again from George Couzens following a Yarmouth short corner. Although the Bloaters had the better chances late on, a draw was a fair reflection on the game for both teams.

The Bloaters finished the season on 36 points in tenth place on goal difference to Leiston reserves, giving that they were third bottom at the turn of the year this was a decent finish to the season.
