First team manager, Rob McCombe has announced his first piece of business of the summer with the addition of Chris Linehan to the First Team Management set up.
Chris has most recently been part of the management teams at Harleston FC and Dereham, but became a free agent several months ago, at which point some early discussions took place, but covid got in the way of completing any move until now, and following a very positive meeting today, Chris agreed to join the clubs management team for the season ahead.
Earlier this year, during lockdown, the Bloaters made a few changes behind the scenes with Greg Dimsey accepting a role across the whole club, overseeing football development, in a Head of Football/Technical Development role, which left a gap in the First team management group, and Chris was the clubs No1 target for the role.
Manager McCombe was thrilled to finally get his man. “Chris is someone I have a lot of respect for in the local game – he’s a great addition to the club – we share many of the same values and philosophies and once we got talking properly, it was clear to me he’s exactly what we need to add to the group – plus he’s worked with several of the players/management in different roles so its a great fit. He comes from a backdrop of winning dressing rooms which he’s been a big part of, and I look forward to working closely with him this season”
Chris is clearly excited about the opportunity also “I always go into a meeting with an expectation of what i want to get from it and it went as I hoped it would which is awesome. Really positive we can do some great work together and I can add value where its needed. Looking forward to the future!!!“
Chris will now join up with the first team at the start of Pre season on 15th June ahead of the season starting on 31 July.
